Consultation for Registered Dietitians

As Registered Dietitians, we aren’t often taught about the benefits of consultation with other clinicians in practice. Consultation can assist any RD in discussing specific cases and receiving additional input from another perspective. Overall, it can truly help to ensure your clients receive the best care possible.

As an iaedp™ Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) and Approved Consultant, I strive to make consultation a regular component of this profession. I’ve honed my skills in eating disorder treatment through working at all levels of care and completing specialized training and continuing education. I also gained valuable experience by supervising RDs at the East Coast locations of Monte Nido & Affiliates while in my role there as Director of East Coast Nutrition Services.

Additionally, I provide guest lectures at Teachers College, Columbia University for graduate nutrition classes, describing the role of the RD in eating disorder treatment, and I serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns. I value the opportunity to support soon-to-be RDs in gaining exposure to this work.

It is important to note that I continue to engage in my own continued learning and case consultation, and wholeheartedly believe in the merit of maintaining this practice throughout one’s career. Working at various levels of care and experiencing consultation from both sides have helped shape me into the consultant that I am and can be to you.

My services include consultation for dietitians interested in completing the CEDS (Certified Eating Disorders Specialist) certification process as well as for general RDs looking to continue their professional growth and enhance their confidence. I offer individual and group sessions.
